Earth Hour 2013

Earth HourWhat were you doing on March 23, 2013 between 8:30pm and 9:30pm local time?  Participating in Earth Hour 2013?  An event that encourages households and businesses to turn-off non-essential lights for one hour.  The goal is to recognize the need to take action on climate change.  Did you miss it?  If so, we are not checking our calendars or clocks.  Pick an hour, preferably a nighttime hour when you are normally using artificial lighting, and turn them off!
Triple E Agent Assignment:
Inspire readers to participate in Earth Hour 2013 and other upcoming environmental stewardship events...
Who in the world is participating in Earth Hour?

As you can see from the photo above...all lights are out at Triple E's headquarters.  The 'urban' center to the east and neighbors to the west are providing enough light for a smart phone photograph (with flash).  Going to pull an all-nighter here, and check on the freshly planted tree in the morning.  Maybe you aren't inspired? check these other photos for more encouragement, darkness can be a beautiful thing.

Earth Hour first took place in Sydney, Australia back in 2007.  It is estimated that people from more than 152 countries and 7000 cities/towns participated in Earth Hour 2012.  Let's mark the calendar for other events/days that are calling for your participation:
*note: Arbor Day may be observed on a different day(s) according to your best tree planting period, check your state here

Everything Counts,
Triple E.
